Dr. sc. techn. ETH Horst A. Beyer, is a globally acclaimed scientist who has dedicated his career to advancing the fields of metrology and photogrammetry. His groundbreaking work in converting photogrammetry from analog to digital has significantly impacted the defense, automotive, and aerospace industries. With three degrees in the field, including a Ph.D., he has educated students at universities around the globe and has authored over 70 research papers in scientific literature.

In 2006, Dr. Beyer saw an urgent need for true photogrammetry in the field of dentistry after he was exposed to failings of stereophotogrammetry, intraoral scanners, and analog impression methods for capturing implant position. He began development in 2007, started clinical trials in 2013, and officially launched ICam in 2019.
